How to Stack Wedding Cake?

Last Updated on January 22, 2022 by Sam

Wedding cakes can be more daunting than they appear. Cake tiers are stacked in a triangular pattern, and the cake needs to be iced with buttercream icing. The first tier is assembled on top of simple strips of cardboard cut into 1-inch wide layers that form the bottom of each layer of the cake.

Wedding cakes are typically made up of three layers. The bottom layer is the most dense and heavy, so it should be placed on top of a cake stand or plate to prevent it from sliding off.
